Maya lighting and rendering tutorial
In this tutorial we are going to see how to set lights for a character and render through layer rendering method in maya.
Create a new scene in maya.
Select the character and go to render and click and add to the layer and name the layer as ambient layer.In which we are going to add an ambient light and render it.
By selecting the ambient light go to the light setting and make the ambient shade to 0.00.
And then render the ambient layer.Make sure you disconnect the default light in the render settings and make the render type engine to maya software render.
Now select the character and create a new layer ans name its as occlusion layer.we are now going to render occlusion pass in mental ray .Make sure the light is not selected in this layer.
Render the scene.
Now select the same character and make light layers such as key light bounce light and fill,rim light .Render throught batch render and composite in photoshop are in fusion.
