Hello every body i am naresh and i welcome you all for the most interesting subject in graphics. We are going to learn some of the basic ideas and basic steps in after effects i am going to show you for steps in which we can cover the basic in after effects.

In this tutorial we are going to see how to set a project in after effects.

Free After effects

Then get the cursor to near the project by right clicking the mouse button a new tab open in that select new composition.

after effects

Then a new composition settings opens.

Now before getting into the setting all we have to do is consider which mode of telecast are we going to deal wither it is for tv channels are for a movie we should set the composition setting in the starting itself so consider now i am going to work for a tv channels i prefer width 720 and height to 576 and frames per second will be 25 frames per second.

after effects cs3

Now after given the settings you wanted click ok and you can get set go for the composition work.

tutoriales after effects

In this tutorials we are going to see the uses of displacement map. With displacement map i am going to show you the basic use and what output we get. This tutorial is also based got basic viewers

This tutorials is going to cover Displacement map.

What is displacement map it is a contrast of normal mapping and bump mapping.

Displacement map is used for photo realistic rendering.

Displacement mapping includes the term mapping which says texture mapping.

Create new scene in 3d max

And apply a plane over the grid .

Go to material editor the short cut for material editor is M

Apply a new material.

Displacement Map Tutorials

normals tutorials

displacement map tutorials

Now go to maps in the displacement add a dent map.

vray displacement map

An then render the scene and see you will find a vast difference.

displacement map download

Now change the value of the map and render note that these displacement maps render only in mental ray render.

map displacement

In this tutorial is going to the cover the basic users modeling methods. In this tutorial we are going to see how to model a glass using splines and line tool in 3d max.

Modeling a glass is a easy method where we have to just consider the basic outline of the model it is better you take a reference for the model before you start a model but for a glass i think we dont need it now.

Create a new scene in 3d max.

modeling tutorials

Go to splines and select line and in the front view draw a line as shown below.

Note that you draw in the front view.

fillet method

Now select the end vertex and by selecting it go to fillet and make the rough edges smooth like i have shown.

lathe model

By selecting the lath axis center point move the manipulator and you will get a shape like this.

graphicstutorials

Now again go to the modify and select shell.

And thus you get a fine glass model in your scene.

This tutorials is going to teach you how to texture a model in 3d max.And the various steps in texture like bump map, specular map, ambient color, specular color and all.Now we are going to learn the basic steps of importing a texture into the scene and applying to the model. This tutorials is basically for the beginner users and in this tutorials i am going to show you the importance of bump map because without bump map we cant give the quality of real texture and the final output with good quality.

Lets start the tutorial first create a new scene.

texture

Then create a box in the top view.

Unfold 3d mesh

Now go to material editor shortcut for material editor is M the material editor tab opens up.

3d free

The pick the texture you want consider that the box model is brick wall.

Tutorials

Select the bitmap image file to apply the texture to the model.

Now you can see the texture is applyied to the model now we are going to see few steps for the texturing to be fit in correct form to the model.

UV maps

Now you can render the scene and see but the texture looks like it has a lot of depth in it.But after rendering we may see that its so flat in image.

free models

Now go to material editor and in maps go to bump open the bitmap and assign a new texture for bump map.To make the work simple i have applied the same diffuse color map to the bump map and make the bump value to 120

lightwave uv mapping

3ds max uvw

Now render the scene. And you can see the difference.

3d show reel

Now select the model and go to modify and give map scaler and this may help you to tile the texture what you need and for the preview you can render the scene and see you will get the output as shown below.

3ds max basics

Once again we are going to see some of the render passes in 3d max like reflection passes, specular passes like that we are going to see some of the render passes in 3d max.I have always giving to some note basically to get a production render we can take the output in single render image. Thus we have to render passes to take a good production output. So in mental ray there are many types of render elements where you have to see they are alpha, atmosphere, background, blend, diffuse, hair and fur,hdr data, ink, light, luminance material id,matte object id,pain reflection, refraction, self illumination, shadow specular, velocity and z depth .As you can learn depth of field tutorials in my previous tutorial. Now in this tutorial i am going to show some of the render passes in mental ray.

Tutorial

vray textures

Now switch to mental ray rendering and go to material editor click standard and select arch & design and in templates select glossy finish and assign a color you want.

3d max mental ray tutorials

Now press f10 short cut to render settings and go to render elements and select reflection. And render the scene.

Reflection tutorials in 3d max

Now render the scene you can see the original rendered image and the reflection pass comes in a separate layer.

Similarly try specular pass.

Specular

The specular pass render and comes out with black and white contrast where the black values can be reduced in composite and we can give any type of color as we want when we render the specular color in white.

mental ray tutorials

Now in the render elements select lighting then create a new light for example you can use any kind of light. And render the scene you will get a separate pass of light.I have used a omni light.

Light tutorial

fast rendering

Next we are going to take object id pass.

Select object id in the render elements and render the scene.

Tutorials object id

chrome reflection

And thus you have seen some of the render pass in 3d max.
